CumberlandFalls/Eagle Falls

I've seen so many shots of Cumberland Falls with massive amounts of water pouring over the drop, that I decided to take advantage of the dry Summer we've had and shoot it with considerably less flow. I seem to like the more delicate ribbon-like strands... While there, my wife and I hiked down to Eagle Falls, which, surprisingly had a decent flow. I'd have paid big $$ for a darker ND when I realized Eagle Falls was in the full sunlight! Oh well...

    Really Nice!
I especially like the lighting in the 3rd image. I know what you mean about too much water in a falls. I think you did an excellent job with Eagle Falls, despite the sun.

We had a really wet summer and some of the bigger waterfalls weren't worth shooting. The last 4 weeks have been mostly rain free and I've been trying to take advantage. On the other hand, some of the lower volume falls are down to a trickle - oh well ne_nau.gif

Nice stuff! Cumberland looks like a mini-Niagra without the crowds (I hate crowds)

I've been rather incapacitated lately with my bad back acting up. I finally got out this past Sunday to a falls I hadn't been to yet (White Oak falls in Shenandoah Nat Park). I knew it'd be a little dry but was bummed to find it pretty much just a trickle. Haven't gotten a chance to review the shots yet but I don't expect 'em to be anything great.

    As always great photos all

It always amazed me standing there the amount of power and water going over those falls
When the kids were little we would visit the falls and I would hold their hands very tight around those old rails :D

I have never been to Niagara Falls so I can't even imagine

The shot from Eagle Falls very cool never seen that one before ne_nau.gif

    Thanks
