Is this a reproduction? The original was made by Bernheart Ofenlsauger. It was the prototype of the first and I think only self propelled mobile still.

It was claimed to produce one ounce of high quality gin like beverage per mile.

Unfortunately on the maiden 100 mile test run at about mile 37 into the drive the vehicle was observed swerving somewhat erratically and poor Bernheart drove straight off a cliff.

That was the end of the only self propelled mobile still. :cry

Sam gets the prize for best answer lol3.gif The rest of you are close: it's generally regarded as the first "modern" internal-combustion engine automobile, built by Karl Benz in 1885 and patented in 1886.

It was powered by a single-cylinder, 984 cc engine and had a maximum speed of 10 mph. No cup holders, alas. mwink.gif
