I really haven't tried this since i got my new teleconverter... I forgot until i saw this, i should go out and try later tonight maybe. I remember the moon being bright enough when zoomed in to use a decent shutter speed hand-held. At least here in Dallas, TX.
What did you use lens wise?

OK, that's it--no more moon shots from me till I get a 400 or longer. Beautiful shot, Joel.
@bruce: I use a free Firefox extension (Windows) called FxIF. You can right-click on most images posted here and view basic EXIF data. There are other similar extensions available.

Thanks! I used the Canon 500mm F4 with a TC1.4 MKII. (I'm wondering whether the MKIII would given even better results.)

Thanks, Richard! My big lenses are for my wildlife habit, but they sure are fun for moon shots.
BTW, I use the same EXIF plugin. And of course one can always go to my Smugmug gallery and find the EXIF for any of the shots there.

Hey thanks, MP! I hope your son enjoys the shots. My kids are so jaded they won't even look at my moon shots anymore.

LMBO, I feel ya...my kids beg and plead for me to leave the camera at home...my 9 yr old says, "can this please be an electronics free day at the park mom?"
Damn kids don't appreciate anything! lol

Thank you, sir!
Thanks, Bruce! You got your answer from Richard, but I'll concur that an EXIF plugin is a very useful thing to have.
Thanks, Allen.
