We saw it at the Florida Zoo. Not sure what kind it is.

    Hi Matt! Welcome to the forum. Your bird is a Great Egret. They have an interesting history. In the late 1800's, their feathers were in such demand as decorations for women's hats., that they were hunted nearly to extinction. An ounce of their feathers sold for more than an ounce of gold. Thankfully they have made a great comeback and are no longer endangered. Best, Pam
