Granted these aren't as great as the normal shots in this gallery, but I am excited to share.
Hagerman NWR is full of these little guys and I can hear them everywhere. Seeing one is quite another matter and getting one to sit still and pose is even rarer. It was afternoon light and he was a pretty good distance from my little point and shoot, so I am pretty pleased with what I got. By far the best I have ever managed of a Painted Bunting... now to get a better one. :)

Nice captures of a very colorful subject.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

These guys are hard to get good shots of, so getting something is always good! thumb.gif

    Thanks all
I went out yesterday evening hoping for better light, which I had, but could not get a single shot one. They all insisted on hiding... so yes, I am happy with any shot of these guys.
