That's a great shot. Lots of personality, and sharp too. Mine (yesterday, Northern Virginia) isn't nearly as good, but I got the red feathers on the belly at the base of the tail. Mine was also at ISO 400, 1/125th, but at f/2.8 where yours was at f/5.6. Prolly helped your sharpness and DOF.

Tim, I like the soft green background and the sharp detail in that plump bird. Not sure why the bottom part of the frame is sort of washed out looking? Best, Pam
Nice capture Tim. Good detail and a nicely defocused BG. I think if you had the perch stick coming out of the left hand corner it would have been a minor improvement in the comp.

Thanks PGM. The bottom is actually the river and there was some leaves in the frame between the camera and the birds tail.
