Excellent at-a-glance view of timeline/date of another hosting service

I was just browsing through, checking the other services I passed when I finally decided on SM last year, one of them was dropshots, looks like they improved on their service.

This is a demo album/account, what I particularly love about this one is that left navigation toolbar is very nicely done, very user friendly. You have your timeline and your albums in one screen. Whereas in SM you would have to choose one and browse with that only.
Now, this brings me to the reason why I posted in this section. We have, under our SM accounts, http://accountname.smugmug.com/date view.
1) Is it possible for Smugmug to utilize a better layout of this section? Possibly a calendar view, and something that makes "Jump to month" stand out more, maybe as a list on the right/left?
2) Is it possible to list which gallery/album the picture belongs to next to "See photo in original gallery".
3) Or a brand new Style, (smugmug, journal,...) timeline. This style would switch the view to include something similar to dropshots left navigation toolbar on the leftwith years, months, days. Basically allowing viewers or site owner to go back directly to -for example- April 2004 when they are looking at March 2006 without having to go back to /date/ and then start drilling all way down again. Timeline view would just have list on the left and thumbnails on the right.
I know most of these are available in smugmug as it is much more powerful than most of the other services, it is just that they are not highlighted enough in a presentable manner.
