Tried and enjoyed athletics at the weekend with the D50. These are all hand-held and there is no excuse (the dog ate the tripod?).


The boys just have to admit



that the girls


are somehow more graceful


which even still applies


to baton changing in the 4 x 100.

Hi Possum,
I have to agree with you, the girls have a lot more style than the boys. Not that it's a bad thing though. Nice captures of action.

Also, your smugmug site is really slow. When I scroll, the screen slugs along slowly. Just mentioning this so you can see if there is something wrong. Other smugmug sites are working fine.

Yep, those girls do look graceful. Boys are clods at this age.....


I don't remember what you're shooting with but if you can shoot from similar distances in the future, I'd suggest opening up the aperture and focusing on one or two hurdlers. I think the cool background blur you'd get would really put the emphasis on your subject(s)
