Does the Sigma lens 80/400 F4.5/5.6 EX-DG-APO OS will perform correctly if bought for a Nikon D3100.
Will it focus automatic ?
Will it be a good deal?
Thanks.:beer

According to the chart on Sigma's site:

    http://www.sigmaphoto.com/discontinued-lens-chart

... the lens does not have a BIM (built-in-motor), but searching other sites some users claim that it does have a micro-motor AF. I honestly don't know about this model.

Without a BIM you would manual focus but you should have focus confirmation from the camera.

Check with Sigma to be absolutely sure:

The key factor here is whether or not the Sigma lens have an internal focus motor? The Nikon D3100 is an entry-level DSLR, and may not support the lens autofocusing because of this. I'd check the manufacturer to see if the Sigma lens has an internal focus motor. Hope that helps!
