The Canon EF-S 60mm is about $450. It's superb quality and a nice focal length for flowers if you have a crop-sensor camera. However, if you want to chase bugs, you will probably be happier with something longer, in the 90-105mm range, so that you don't have to get as close.
I bought the Tamron 60mm f/2 Macro as my first and still only macro lens. It was about $400. Just google the lens you will find lots of buying options. It is great! I wish I had bought it a few years ago when I first got my Nikon D80.

How much is the Tamron lens? Does it fit on a Canon? I love flower shots and macros but my budget is limited... thoughts?
