One of the colorful birds that you can encounter when you visit the San Antonio Zoo in Texas. Thank you very much for viewing.

Whoa, brother. Terrific shot.clap.gif Great use of DOF control. Your work, Jiro, speaks volumes about the wisdom of using tripods all the time. It's the mark of a real accomplished photographer.thumb.gif

    Take care,

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Nope. We are actually... inside the bird cage! :D All the parrots are housed on a big structure that is covered with a screen mesh so they can't escape. THe birds are pretty friendly, too. One of the attractions that they do is that you can buy the birds a special liquid formula for them to drink. When I interviewed the bird keeper she said that it's a mixture of vitamins and minerals and some pureed fruits. They would even land at your hands if you give them the fluid! How cool is that! :D

There's a big bird cage like that at the dallas zoo, except they sell popsicle sticks with a bit of peanut butter on em that they roll in bird seed, and you can hold em out and birds will perch on either your hand or the stick and nibble at it. I guess the Dallas zoo can't afford pureed fruits.. rolleyes1.gif

Here's my daughter being surrounded by the birds when she showed them the pureed drink. She loved the experience though a bit scared that some of the parrots would bite her hard. Hahaha!

Neat shot, Jiro. You can readily see the trepidation in your daughter's face. However, tell her it's the other end of the parrot that you have to be concerned about.:D

That is a beautiful pic of a beautiful bird...lush soft background! But - the pic of your daughter is absolutely wonderful! The two photos should be side by side to show the formal bird portrait and then real life! :)
