Need to delete many galleries

Friends,

Probably a rather silly question but how do I delete many galleries spread over categories and sub-categories. I am redesigning my gallery structure and need to get rid of part of the old one.

Can this easily be done inside SumugMug or is there an external utility that can be used? I know how yo do this one by one but that would be too much work. Will deleting a category or a sub-category delete all galleries inside?

There is no easy way to delete lots of galleries that I know of other than one by one. Deleting a category will not delete any galleries in it, it will just cause the category setting on those galleries to be reassigned to an existing category (usually "other").

If you still want to keep the galleries, but just have them arranged differently, you can simply reassign the category and/or sub-category in gallery settings for the gallery.

No I do not want to keep them. I want to delete all galleries in some specific categories or sub-categories and then design a new structure.

I find it strange that such a basic thing is not easy to do.

I have a method for this, but it's not easy. I linked to it in the previous thread John mentioned.

I have plans to make an application for this, but haven't had time.
