Bumblebee?

Found this when going through unedited images from last year. does the yellow above the proboscis indicate a bumblebee, or another similar species?

Pretty sure this is a carpenter bee not a bumble bee

Thanks. I thought that the yellow patch is unlike a bumblebee.
