Jason, it's tempting to crush the blacks, but for some reason I like it this way. I think it helps the grainy look to keep it all neutral.
What can I say Matt, I love drama and shadows=drama. The first was hand made shadows (beauty dish during makeup) the second was found light during the reception. I love how mixed and convoluted the second on is with the shadows & plants all over the place. All of these are a bit abstract, and I know the third one is an odd way to take a group photo, but I have to keep playing
Yup and yup. If you have never checked out John Michael Cooper's stuff, you should Pat. He is all about dramatic shadows and using the pod, multiple exposures... actually all the fun stuff you've been showing lately. He is often a bit darker than you are though. He likes old b&w movie looks, and surreal looks, and he does a lot of macabre stuff too. Seemingly odd dude but quite the talent.
I do really like the obscurity of the 2nd one. It does certainly look vintage. I tried to do something similar to #1 a few weddings ago and missed the boat on the drama you instilled with the harsh light and heavy shadowing. Another lesson for me!
