The spectacular five villages carved into the cliffs along Italy's Mediterranean coast. Superb place to watch people in their element.

oh man I love the old ladies in the first shot.
Classic image. I love the little detail of the lady on the right whose knee high stockings are peeking out, quentissential "old lady".
I like their expressions and body language, I even like it in color!

Thank you. I tried a B&W conversion but didn't like it as much.
I love the first one as well, but I prefer it in B&W. The color is good, but garish plastic bags break the timelessness for me. They are less obvious in B&W, while the details of dress, posture and the other background objects still come through. It's really hard to find people not carrying plastic bags these days.

I agree with Richard however additionally I would say that there are a lot of elements in the photo that don't necessarily add value.

Have you tried a much tighter crop? I would.

I'd level the horizon on the three women and crop in tight to include only them, the plastic bags and part of the plant on the right. mwink.gif

Yes I realize that. When I said "level the horizon on the three women..." I meant you'd have to level them and the bench horizontally in a tight crop. Otherwise it would look really silly. No? :D
