Greetings from Oahu fello DGrinners.

Here's a shot I took yesterday with my 17-85mm IS and a polarizing filter.

Just sharing a quickie...

I love the colors. I was just on the big island a few weeks ago and would love to go back.

Thanks, David. Doug, Hanuama Bay makes taking a beautiful image easy. I took off my Oakley HD polarized sunglasses, held them up and covered my iPhone 4 camera lens and the picture was mouth watering as well... ;-)

    Nice!

Looks like a fun place to snorkel too! Maybe with a waterproof camera housing?!? :D

Great shot! Where are all the snorkelers? I was there once and remember lots of people in the water. Thanks for sharing--it looks especially inviting as we are in such an awful drought and +100 degrees already.

That is one of my favorite spots on Oahu (i live near Pearl Harbor). I find the lighting a bit tricky there though (ie dealing with the shadows on the edges of the crater). Great job though. Did you get to go snorkling at all?

Nice, the polarizing filter really adds depth of color to the photo, much more so than mine (virtually same shot, it's just about the only accessible vantage point to see the whole bay). You can see the snorkelers out there, they're tiny! Snorkeling was so much better beyond the breakers there.

PS: off topic, as a 10 year old living near Portlock (early 50's) 3 of us got stuck walking down from top and had to get rescued by the police, my parents were not happy.
