Edit: Oops! This shot is the Frio River in Leakey TX. The Sabinal River runs through Utopia. I got 'em backwards.
Here is a shot from one of my photo treks last week. It's hard not to get a nice shot with a scene like this! The rivers are all fairly low here and the creeks are just plain dry . . . but the cypress trees with their roots in the water are still fascinating. It is a very tranquil scene and I was the only one there. It is also a walk of only about 15 yards from where I pulled my truck off the highway in Leakey, which is about 80 mi west of San Antonio.
Enjoy!

Tom, you do have an excellent memory--I did post a shot of this same spot last year. I am much happier with this one. Thanks, my friend!

Love the textures you have throughout. Mind sharing a bit of the technical aspects? Was there anything in particular you did to get that effect?
Thanks

If you don't agree with me then your wrong.
I can't be held accountable for what I say, I'm bipolar.
Technical aspects:
Shot was made with Nikon D300s with 70-300 lens at ISO 200, 70mm, f/11, 1/6 sec and -2/3 exposure comp. This was the underexposed image of a 3-image bracket. I processed this in Photoshop with Topaz Adjust. Then I added a Hue/Sat layer, adjusting the individual colors as well as the Master. I added 2 blending layers with some darkening in foreground and right side shadows so I could make the left side stand out more; both layers were blended at Soft Light and adjustments in fill and opacity were made as well. Finally, I added an exposure layer, bumping the overall exposure back up by 2/3. This shot took some work but I am very happy with the results.
Thanks,
Lauren

Tulips and iris are my favorite spring flowers. Tulips are pretty much gone around here, but the iris are blooming. They are a bit more complex, and beautiful.
