    Hi SmugMug..
What is the status for this issue?..

I want my danish clients to be able to choose items from the your shopping cart,, and have the list sent to me instead of getting prints from US.

    ???

    regards
Can't give a date or timeline but I can tell you the same thing that I've been saying all along- we simply can't (and won't) ignore this request. Stay tuned.

Sorry Andy, this line is getting tired after 3-4 years. While I understand the policy of not commenting on upcoming features, trotting out this line about ONE FEATURE for 3-4 years is turning the policy into a running joke.

And yes, I know I'm a broken record and I keep harping on about the US centric nature of SMugmug... But well, there's a way to fix that :-)

    Cheers - N

Careful watching of what I've been saying on Dgrin posts, our feedback forum, and elsewhere should tell you more, should tell you this is no joke thumb.gif

Oh, I fully believe you want to do something about it, but look at this (from the feedback site - http://feedback.smugmug.com/forums/17723-smugmug )
TOP requested feature - European print lab
4th highest feature is self fulfillment
5th highest feature is foreign currency transactions

NONE OF THESE have a status of 'planned' or 'started'

Yet there are heaps of other features on the feedback site that ARE planned or started, and are WAY lower than the three listed above. From this, I can assume ONLY ONE of the following two logical options.

    1) You haven't planned to start, or started any of the three features listed.
    2) You're deliberately making sure the feedback site is an inaccurate reflection of your plans.

You've been telling us for YEARS how complex these requests are, so if you haven't started them, how long will it take, assuming you do decide to work on them - another year, maybe 2?

I don't mind the policy Andy, but you're not even been internally consistent on this one. As I say, you either haven't started them, or the feedback site is being deliberatly kept inaccurate - which one is it?

    Cheers - Neil G

We are a private company in a competitive industry and we can choose what we want to say publicly and what we don't. I'm really sorry I can't say more on this right now.

I give up. Love your site, love the support, love the customisation, LOVE the saintlike patience you in particular have.

    HATE this policy.

I have no problem with that, but I can go to zenfolio to see the list of features you guys NEED to implement (to stay competitive). Zenfolio can come here to see what they need to implement (the things you have that they don't). What you guys should be keeping secret are those great ideas you have in the works that zenfolio doesn't have. Wouldn't want them beating you to it.

If they've already got it, it's no secret that you're working on it (or should be!). We just like to hear confirmation. :D

Saying "stay tuned" got old a long time ago. Ya need some new secret codes for what you really mean. Like "we want that" for things over 5 years away and "we're working on that" for things a year away and "stay tuned" if it's in final testing and coming in the next release. mwink.gif

I'm in Canada and I'm also waiting.

PhotoShelter has implemented it through a different way: local labs (from anywhere in the world including the US) can register with them, then the photographer can select which lab to send the order to through email and image attached. Something similar could be done through SM without impacting "too much" on the infrastructure.

Once the email is sent, Photoshelter "washes their hands" of it, i.e. they are not responsible for anything else including the payment of the print between the lab and the photographer, the quality of the printing...

That would be good enough for me.
    Thanks

Still waiting as well. There must be some option that could work.
