smart alternative?

hey guys
so i was wondering
i saw this light reflector thing (the big silver plastic circle) in my class that was $100

then i went outside and I saw a similar thing on a car windshield..
i think the windshield protector is cheaper...

do u think it will do the same job?:scratch

    Yes, its only reflecting light. If you look around you will probably come across one that is silver on the front and gold on the back. The gold side is ideal for warming the reflected light onto your subject to give a more flattering skin tone.

    I do use automotive and truck windshield (windscreen) shades for photography and video work. The one I like best is an accordion type and it's made of a closed cell white foam with a silvered surface on the other side.

    Just make sure to test for UV properties and color purity against a known photographic white so that you know whether or not it affects the reflected light.
