Earlier this week I chaperoned my grandson's kindergarten class
on a field trip to the Orlando History Center. It was the first time
I'd ever been on a class field trip or ridden on a school bus.
My grade school didn't have school buses or field trips, and I was
always working when my kids went on field trips. My wife did the
honors.
Lunch was al fresco:

No children were harmed by the stone critter, eh?
You didn't miss much by not traveling to school via bus, did you?
I'm like you - walked both ways.

Nice shot .. looks like the kids picked the right place to enjoy their lunch. So nice to hear a Grandpa doing the honors of going along for the field trip
