I haven't been able to post for a while and I've recently played a bit more with some HDR images. These are mostly 7 shot images processed in Photomatix Pro. Wanted to share and get some thoughts. Thanks for looking.

WOW I really like those, I see those as posters.
Would you care to share your processing?

Thank you dbveto, The shots are basically 7 bracketed shots that are processed with photomatix pro hdr software. It was a straight forward tone map. The only monkey wrench was that the clouds were moving quite quickly that day so I selected the sky and used one image to eliminate the blurred movement. I also removed a distracting structure in the background. for those tryoing to get a grasp on HDR processing I recommend a book called Practical HDR by David Nightingale. It's published by Focal Press and you should be able to find it at Borders Bookstores. It covers 3 different software packages, but does not include the new Nik HDR effex

Very nice work, and thank you for the info!

I really like HDR, even though I haven't done too many because I don't like to use the tripod... - well I think I'll have to work on this... :)

    * My Canon 40D and 50D have only 3 bracketing options, but I guess it's OK...

Terrific RR shots--these work very well with HDR--you got some great detail in those steps!

Thanks again everyone. I'm glad I shared. Photo-bug....You can set your bracketing on the 40/50D's and then use the exposure compenstation dial to drop down below and above the metered reading. These shots were done in manual and checked the histogram on each shot to see where I was with the detail. give er a try it may just be more fun than you think. you can get away with a 3 shot bracket with -2 and +2 but you get more info to use in the tone map if you have more images to work with. The book really explains it well.
