I lucked out and scored an internship working and living in Yosemite for 12 weeks this summer. Here's pictures from my first week here, I'm expecting many more to come later.

Thanks for commenting! I've found some shakey wifi here in my Curry Village tent cabin. Anyway I will try to post more pictures on this comment if the wifi holds up long enough. Now if you were wondering what my internship is, my job right now is to figure out how to tell people to not feed squirrels, bears, and deer. You can share you ideas with me here if you have any unless that is against forum rules or something.

edit: The internet is so unstable I want to cry, my pictures would upload to 5 seconds left then the connection would die and I have to start over. So I'll try and upload them tomorrow when I'm in Wawona.

That wi-fi runs 24 hours a day. I was just down there a few weeks ago, I got up at 5am (stuff there opens at 7am so it's usually pretty empty) and had no problem uploading files. Just sit on the porch of the little lounge area so you're close to the router.

Yeah the wifi emits a signal but it gets overloaded often by all of us employees using it. Anyway, I live in Wawona on the weekends so here's some pictures.

Here's what I saw as I was walking to work one morning.

And I passed by some falls, I work in Yosemite Village and walk from Curry Village.
    DSC25881-M.jpg

I get to see epic sunsets everyday just like this on half dome.

Great pictures! I'd love to go back, especially because I never got to go during the "golden hours" (traveling with family, ya know how that goes).

As for how to tell people not to feed the bears, I'd load up someone's Jaguar with goodies and let the bears have a go, then park it next to the entrance with a big sign that says "Don't Feed the Bears".

Bear story! Once upon a time there was a blue car with food in it, the bear that hit it had the best meal of its life. For the next month every blue car was hit. Anyway I just stitched this pano of the valley where I walk to work.

Nice light in your pano, too. I love how you can see the line of it as it's coming over the mountain.

Thanks for all of the nice comments, I shall continue the series for as long as my internship and hopefully post at least once a week due to the wifi situation. I just got back from shooting the Moonbow at Yosemite Falls and if the wifi allows it I'll try to post it soon, or if not I'll have to wait until Thursday as usual to upload pictures from Wawona.

edit: The wifi fairies have taken mercy upon me and I got it to upload!

Hey it's the weekend now, meaning wifi time, meaning picture time! So I went to take pictures of the moonbow from the lower Yosemite falls three days in a row and having to walk back to Curry Village after the shuttle stopped running. More pictures will probably be added to this post in a little while as I sort through my stuff.

Sweet! I have so far only seen close-up moonbow shots but I prefer your wide-angle one showing the whole arc.
