"Horsie"
Yes indeed this was taken with my Nikkor 85mm F/3.5 VRII macro. When I get a new lens I usually mount it on my D7000 and use it exclusively just to see what it can do in a variety of situations.
This is also my first ever photograph of a horse. It was so beautiful I did a U-turn on the rode I was on to go back and get a shot. The horse was so friendly it trotted straight up to me as I raised my camera, making me back up a few feet to get all his/her head in the frame. I love the horse's coloring and the sharpness of the lens. I found the same to be true of the Nikkor 60mm F/2.8 I used to own. I think I'm going to get lots of use out of my new tool.
