Can I move a gallery?

Hi there,

Sorry if this is a daft question. I searched on here but couldn't find an answer.

I've just created a new gallery for videos. Unfortunately, I've done something wrong and so it's become a gallery in the 'Other' category, and therefore it doesn't show up on my homepage.

Is it possible for me to move it?

Many thanks for any help :D

You move a gallery by going into gallery settings and changing the category it is assigned to.

See the Essentials section of this help page - http://www.smugmug.com/help/picture-storage.

Thanks, Denise. I'll look in the Essentials section.

In the meantime, though, I still can't find a way to move the gallery onto the Homepage :(

    Thanks, Andy :)http://peewiglet.smugmug.com/

The problem seems to be that now I've created it in the 'Other' category I can't create a new category called 'Videos' to put it in, via the Settings. As far as I can work out, the only way to get it onto the Homepage is to put it in a category of its own, but none of the ones offered to me are called 'Videos' and I don't seem to be able to create a new one at this stage. I'm sure I must be overlooking something.

I could just create a new Gallery, of course, but I'm not sure how long it would take to move the two videos I've already uploaded across.

Edited to add: this is a second question, but just in case somebody reading this knows the answer... The first time I watched the vids I've uploaded I'm almost certain that they were shown at full size. Subsequently, though, they come up in a small box to the left of the screen, and a large box with the word 'Comments' in it occupies a large part of the page to the right. I can't find a way to see the videos in their larger size again. Presumably I've pressed something somewhere. Can anyone tell me what to do to put it right? Thanks if you can!

OK, done. I went to control panel, customize tab, categories - created a custom category called Videos and then used gallery settings to change the category of that gallery for you, to the category 'videos' and it's now there on your homepage. More help: http://www.smugmug.com/help/upload-photo

Follow up question to moving galleries/photos

I have a follow up question to moving galleries/photos. I use the photos that I have on SM Pro and use the share/link to include the photos in my blog.

If I move a photo or a gallery, will I loose the photo when referenced in the web page like in: http://www.foto-biz.com/Photos/Shakespeare-the-maltese-puppy or will SM do the logical link?

    Thanks

You won't lose anything. Move the photos, no problem.
