Two pictures from a recent trip to Medoc Mountain State Park. Eons ago, this place was thought to be a mountain -- now it's just a big forest.

I really like the settings and compositions on both of these, but the processing is a bit heavy there seems to be a glow or blur being utilized ? there is a strong color cast in both shots. If this is the final process you were looking for then you have nailed it, I can only comment on my first impressions, so take my comments with a grain of salt. lol

Thanks for the comments, Doug! It was my intention to bring in a bit of blur and add a bit of a cast to create a surreal look that forced the eye to focus more on the path than the rest of the image.

When I tried to process these without the surreal look that comes from blur, the images felt too busy and I found my eye moving all over the place and not so much on the path. Maybe there is a better way than surreal blur and casts to play down some of the busier elements in the image.

I too like to saturate my colors and create more contrast to accentuate the true beauty that not everyone sees. Vignettes are another editing tool I've used for this very purpose.

Beautiful photos! Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to hiking this park this coming spring!
