Book by Scott Kelby, review by DavidTO
The Digital Photography Book, by Scott Kelby is a great little reference book for how to shoot specific scenes and subjects. There's little or no theory in the book. It's more of a recipe book. The way Scott puts it on the back cover, if you were out on a shoot with him and asked him how to get those flowers in focus and the background out of focus he wouldn't give you a phototraphy lecture, but just tell you to set your f-stop to 2.8, focus on the flower and fire away. Some of the hints in this book are just that simple. Some are even simpler, and others are more subtle. If you're an advanced photographer you know all of this already. This book covers: getting really sharp photos, shooting flowers, weddings, landscapes, sports, travel and city shots, people, how to avoid problems, take advantage of digital and how to print. It's a great little reference book, a great way to focus your thoughts before going out to shoot.
