Spring is only a few weeks old & we had 9 fires today. Nothing too serious, no injuries or homes lost.

It hit 39.5c (103f) where i was today.

Hope its all burnt out before summer hits.

I like that 2nd one Gus.

We've been having very strong winds here the last week or so, so fires having been causing havoc here too.

Your guys did quite well in the cricket...

    Hi Gus...

I can really feel the heat in the first photo. Has a bit of a mirage feel to it.

In the second photo--there is a bit of vignetting on the top of the frames--to the right and to the frame. Which lens did you use here?

    Gus,

Officially the fire season has begun (01 Oct). We have been really busy doing hazard reductions for the past few months but our fire calls are coming in quick these days. Averaging about 3 fires a week at present and summer is still a way off. It's going to be a big one this year I think (Though we always say that).

Keep watching for posts from me out at fires as long as I remember to put the darn camera in my bag when not in use as I almost always forget it these days :(

Don't forget to post your fire shots too, everyone as I'd love to see them.iloveyou.gif ...no i'm not an arsonist. It's a great job, sometimes a little scary but always an adrenaline rush.
