Sharing Links to Galleries on Facebook

Is there any way to share a link to a gallery on a persons facebook wall without it looking like this? It looks kind of cheap, almost as if I have a weebly website.

It just doesn't need to have the "billions of happy photos..." part.

Suggestions?

It looks to me as if you haven't set your own site description. I know we do this in our Control Panel, but I can't find which section it's in. If you don't have your own site description set, the default (which posts to FB & other places such as search results) is SmugMug's site description. Hopefully someone else will direct you as to where exactly to set this. I've looked & looked & can't see where I did it.

Eric, set your site-wide meta info - and homepage meta info, in control panel, settings tab. Then FB uses that instead of SmugMug's default wording. Oh and anything you put in the gallery description of a gallery will trump the sitewide stuff as well :) You have complete control. http://smugmug.com/help/search-engines

Thanks for clarifying where that is, Andy. Somehow, I still could not see it after looking some more under "Settings" in the Control Panel. Eric, on the off-chance you're having as much trouble finding it as me, scroll down to "Site-Wide Settings" under "Settings", & you'll see: Search Engine Settings & Optimizations > Meta Description, Meta Keywords, and Discoverability. That's where you can edit it. I was looking for "Homepage Meta" & it's not listed that way exactly.

Thanks for the help guys. How long can I expect before the changes take effect?

One more thing, is there a way to get rid of the "smug mug" out beside the name of the site when searched for on google. It says, "Eric Holmes Photography | Smugmug.

    Hi Eric,

The settings you make are just for future posts. It's not possible to update existing posts you already made. You'd have to remove and repost these.

You can also set a specific description for a gallery by setting up a gallery description. That should be used on Facebook instead of your site description.

SmugMug can't be removed from your page title on a Power account. That's only an option with our Pro account.

Ok, gotcha about the SmugMug part. I added a gallery description, but when I still add a link to facebook it just says the SmugMug description. Any ideas?

That gallery is password protected so Facebook can't get in to see your gallery description and now it probably has the meta data cached (for some period of time).

Ok, Since we are on this topic of links and things. I have set my "homepage only" to be discoverable by google, under account settings>SmugIsland Settings, but when I google search "Eric Holmes Photography" it still pulls up several of the galleries as hits.

Also, is there a way to capitalize the first letters of the name instead of it all being lowercase when google hits on it?

Edit: I found the answer to my first question.
