    Just one thing: Could you try a 'zoom' effect in PS to concentrate on main subject (I used it to isolate a girl in my Portrait of unknown I )

    Thanks for the idea, Yuri.

    I tried the zoom thing, but it didn't have quite the same effect as in your photo. I guess it's because there's a different kind of depth in both of them.

    Anyway, I tried some lens blur with a gradient mask. Here's the result (which I like):
