Edit gallery in category or sub-category takes us back to gallery instead of category

This is a bug in terms of expected behavior, not a big problem that needs immediate attention. I've noticed it forever but always neglect to mention it. So, when we click on "Settings" right under our thumbs in a category or sub-category, that would appear to be a faster way to go through a bunch of galleries in a category systematically & edit their settings. But if we do that & then "Save Settings", we're not taken back to the category or sub-category page, but instead into the gallery. This means that the faster editing process we thought we were using is now no faster than any other way. If a person starts editing while on a category or sub-cat page, they should be taken straight back there to that page after the "save". Otherwise it can be hard to keep track of what you fixed & what you didn't, except for writing it down. It's not expected behavior.

Happens every time when editing from cat or sub-cat, any gallery, any browser, any cat. Has happened as long as I've been here.

Hi Anna Lisa, thanks for the feedback - this is expected behavior, you are editing a gallery's settings and when you click done you'll go back to that gallery.

Get Smugbrowser, you can right click down through all the galleries and
change settings. Even do whole category or sub-cat in one click.

Well, it's certainly not expected behavior for a user. You do see what I mean, right? Editing from a category, not from the gallery! Any user of that method expects that's a faster way to go through all the galleries in the category if they want. They want to go back to where they were & then click "Settings" on the next featured thumb in the category & do that one, rather than a bunch of useless extra clicks... about 5 to 7 extra clicks, if I'm counting correctly. Honestly speaking: this isn't just for me at all... I really want to help you guys improve the UI here, as I've recently been on places like LinkedIN where people are comparing photo sites, & this is a frequent SmugMug complaint: old messy UI in site settings that we're using frequently. I always sing the praises of Smug, but I silently agree w/ them on some of these matters. So, if you guys want to make it better... there ya go... just some simple advice from people who create lots of galleries can tell you this stuff from experience.

Ok, I definitely may do that someday; I may even have it already. I'm just way over-saturated w/ learning new programs & apps & it's never smooth & easy. Imho though, there are a few simple things like this that we really shouldn't need an app for. These are the kinds of little issues that needlessly send people away from Smug, and it's a shame. It would just be nice to hear, instead of something saying basically "this is the way it's always been & that's the way it is" .... "yeah, we see how much better that would make the user experience... we'll look into it." Tools we use constantly, which take a bunch more clicks than needed, are just off-putting. This is just one of them.
