Hi All!
This is an unexpected pleasure. I'll try to live up to the honor.
Here in the United States last weekend was Memorial Day Weekend where we remember and celebrate the men and women who have served in our Armed Forces. I'm sure that it is the same in the other countries around the world, just not on the same date as us. We remember and celebrate our national heroes by dedicating holidays to them, building monuments, holding rallies, and such. While this past weekend and the images that I'm going to included are geared toward those that have served in the military let us not forget the other heroes that are among us. Police officers, firefighters and EMTs, doctors and nurses, even the guy down the street that got a neighbor's cat out of the tree. So join with me in celebrating and saying THANK YOU to our heroes.
This challenge will run through Tuesday June 14 at 7:00 pm, my time here in the Eastern US.

OUR UN-OFFICIAL GENERAL RULES
1. Have fun sharing and seeing what others share!
2. The host supplies a topic and you post 1-3 images. The host judges the winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd) and is not eligible to enter. The 1st place winner then chooses the next topic, judges the winner and then passes on the baton to the new champion.
3. Any photo you have taken is eligible, regardless of when taken or camera used.
4. Any amount of post-processing is allowed. However, it is helpful if you list your camera and lens along with your photo. You may comment on other contestant's images. If you want someone to leave you some critique or criticism, just ask within your post.
5. The winner has up to three days (72 hours) to begin a new mini-challenge, or the honor goes to the #2 finisher and so forth.
Guidelines:
1. Enter 1-3 photos and put them in a single post.
2. Either embed your image in the thread or, if you must, supply a link to it. Keep in mind, however, most people don't want to click to open photos hosted elsewhere (i.e. on your website).
3. Also try and resize your photos prior to posting so they're sized appropriately for viewing without having to scroll (~800 pixels on the longest side works best.)
4. Give each image you enter a title.
5. Enjoy discussion with members about their images, don't let this just be an entry thread!
6. Don't be hesitant, share'em and enter!

Artistically & Creatively Challenged
This one pays homage to my personal hero and by definition I think is someone who is there, thick or thin, good or bad and will do anything, be anything regardless of any situation..... My wife.
This was taken sometime last year on a bus heading to an airshow because I wanted to take photos... my hero by my side, or is that my side kick?
I do have one more that I might add here at a later date, but I need to photo it first... but wanted to get these in.
