Deleting empty event favorite galleries

I love, love, love events. But now my gallery listing is cluttered with tons of event favorite galleries. Although they aren't seen by my site visitors, I'd still like to clean it up. If I delete the ones that are empty, will it cause any problems if/when they come back to my site?
