Help please!

Hi everyone.. I'm new to the forums, but not to smugmug... but now that I've found them, I think I'll be checking them out more often.
Anyway, to the point - I'm scanning slides my Dad took while stationed in Italy in 1960. Some of them he labeled, some he didn't. While I have been able to find most based on google image searches and info he told me about them, this photo has stumped me. It's one of my favorite shots and would really like to know where it came from.
What I can say for certain is this: it was taken in Italy, most likely Venice or Florence (based on the location of the slide in the carousel), and my Dad thinks they were there standing in line to get into a museum.
