Well I ended up hiring a plane to take our aerial photos. It was pretty cool. I learned alot. Should have had the shutter speed faster. And not to use a plane - go with a heliocopter next time. :huh

Here are a few shots, nothing great, but it will work for what we need it for. I only had a small hole to shoot through. And the plane bounced alot.

I have over 100 photos, going to take some time to process.:rolleyes

Below is our (The Center for Discovery's) new Clinic, my office is in the back.

Here is part of one of our farms. You can see the clinic on the top right.

And this is our other farm, you can the cows that I photograph often.

And me after we touch down. I just barely fit in this little thing. :rofl

Maybe try a high-wing aircraft next time you're shooting pics of the ground. That should make it easier to see what's below you (though you have to watch out since some high-wings have a strut in the way...try a Cessna 182 I think...high wing, no strut, good ground viz and not as noisy as a copter).

    Cool pics.

    Nice shots!
And perfect subject for LAB correction: light haze, subtle fall colors.. LAB *loves this!
    Good luck!

Next time I will be using a heliocopter.

I was told that the top wing airplanes are harder to get shots. But either way, moving pretty fast and banking on a bumpy airplane was not ideal.

    What is LAB correction? headscratch.gif

Any suggestions for helping these photos?

I just did a little sharpening, contrast and saturation.

Thanks for the replys! everyone. thumb.gif

    door out and in harness
from what i have read the best way to do it is get a plane or helicopter that will agree to take the door out and let you hang out in a harness

i want to go on a hot air balloon flight and give it a try-the helicopter/plane looks a little expensive for me unless I was going to use it to make a sale

    ya did good.
they'll benefit greatly from a simple curves adjustment, to increase the contrast, cut down the bit of haze that's present. holler if you need help with that. don't worry about LAB yet - you can learn about that in the photo finish - software forum here on dgrin (look at the stickys).

Gees-- never mind-- another post beat me to it, I just didn't see it there!

Cool pics and opportunity here Dean. Yes I would suggest a helo next time; however, they will be quite a bit more to hire. Instead, try to find a high, fixed wing plane next time-- something like a cessna would work well. Low-swept wings are hard to get around and the cessna can be "slid" easily to give one side of the aircraft full, unobstructed views of the ground! Its a lot of fun for the pilot, too. At least I get a thrill out of it-- it isn't often you can make a plane fly nearly sideways.

    Thanks Andy and David, thumb.gif

I will work on them in PS a little more. I have about a hundred, with a couple good ones.

And will look into the LAB later.
