Hello all!

I am trying to figure out a problem i am having with my nikon setup.

At receptions i like to have one flash on camera in ttl mode with one off camera in manual.

The on camera flash is an sb900 and off camera is an sb600.

With my previous cactus triggers i would just have the trigger plugged into the sync port on my d300s and the trigger in my pocket via long cable.

Now when i use the mini tt1 with the sb900 on top of it and the flex tt5 off camera with the sb600 in manual on top of it, the sb900 on camera shoots ttl but the sb600 wont fire at all. I have tried setting the sb900 to comander and still nothing. I have researched and cannot find a soltuion. Hs anyone else had this problem?

The AC3 zone controller for the mini lets you mix ttl and manual flash settings. But the AC3 take up the spot on the mini/flex where you put your on camera flash, so to use the AC3 and flash on camera you would have to put your flash on a bracket.

I use mini/flex on Canon so I don't know if it would be the same on Nikon, but it seems like you could set the flex on your remote flash to receive on the non-ControlTL signal and that would in effect put it into manual mode.
