The other day I posted a link to one of my SmugMug photos in a newsgroup.
One reader was greatly confused because the photo he went to was completely
different from what I had written about in the post. Turns out clicking my link
took him to another photo in the same gallery. (The link was clicked, not copy/pasted)
Clicking on the same link a day later took him to the correct photo.
Another reader was a bit less confused, but wanted more direction since the
link took him to my home page.
Other readers of the newsgroup were taken to the correct photo the first time.
No big deal, since I don't have any photos in my galleries that I would prefer
people not see, but this has never happened before.

Just showing some of my UK friends how the US converts old icons to new purposes.
The first reader went directly to this photo which is in the same gallery.

I'm not sure how to do that. Let's try it this way through Google:
http://groups.google.com/group/alt.usage.english/browse_thread/thread/fba37abdd85a95bd?hl=en#
I'm not sure if that works because I don't use GoogleGroups (spit!). I use a newsreader (Agent)
and a provider (news.individual.net).
The "forum" is a newsgroup (Usenet: alt.english.usage)
The thread is "The red phone box updated", and the poster who was first
confused is Steve Hayes at the posting 06/04/2011 at 10:25PM. (the 9th posting down)
If you go down to John Holmes' posting, he's the one who got the home page.

As I said, it's no big deal. Nothing I have on SmugMug in a non-password-protected
site is something I don't want seen. I have some family pix in password-protected
galleries. Most of my galleries are hobby photography.
I was just surprised at the mix-up.
