This was my first time to visit a car show. I saw the sign on the road that says "2011 Car Show at Riverside Park - June 4". I said "great!" I can practice some more about composition, and exposure, and shooting in crowded areas. :D I came pretty early hoping to get some good shots while there are still few people roaming around. The problem is... even the owners of the car are nowhere to be found! :dunno Probably they are still busy registering or getting their own breakfast. For me, I just took a cup of coffee and off I go to the show.

This is the first set of images that I was able to process so far. Pardon my ignorance for not identifying this roadster as they did not put any information as to what model, what brand, and what year it was made. All I know was that it was really gorgeous and it caught my attention so I grabbed some shots.

Many thanks to Tom (A.K.A. Black Mamba) for giving me a lot of inspiration in shooting exotic cars with his posted images. :thumb

Thank you very much for viewing.

I shot this same car a few years ago in my hometown of Newton,Ks. When I started down the photos, I thought hmmm, wonder if it's the same car. Yep, the tag is a Kansas tag. Neat set of images. p.s. Was this in Wichita? or some other Riverside Park?
Please don't edit my images or use them without my permisson.

Thanks, Jeepr. The car show was in Brownwood, Texas. Perhaps you can ID this car for me? mwink.gif

A bit strange since the TRI 5 license plate indicates an interest in 1955/1956/1957
Chevrolet restorations, but this is obviously not modified from one of those.

If this was a show connected with the Heartland Rod Run in Brownwood on June 3/4,
then email Wayne Creel with an attached photo and ask him.
    His email is at http://www.oldride.com/events/6627682.html

He'll recognize the car and maybe put you in touch with the owner's email address.

Wonderful work, my friend.clap.gifMy favorite of the abstracts is #7. Crop it down just a tad to eliminate the grass and shinny chrome pieces ( about 7 slats of the grill ) at the very top right and, as terrific as it is, it gets a little better. Your eye for the shot certainly carries over to the world of cars.thumb.gif

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

I like the abstracts. Interesting shapes and colours. Have you tried shooting these with a polarizer on the lens? I find it helps a lot to reduce any unwanted reflections from the body work of the cars.

Thanks, Rob. That is one of the stuff that I would like to have in the future and some variable neutral density filters when my budget is OK. Thanks for the tip. thumb.gif:D

Nice! I believe this is a car that I saw in the Barret Jackson showroom several years ago. I will have to look through my old archives, but I believe I have a few shots of it as well. :D
