Here is a shot of my daughter in our backyard. I am trying some fill flash techniques in shade from a wall...

    Looks good. You should play with some gels, that would look nice.

    Watch how close you get to your subject with a particular lens. This seems to be shot with a short focal length due to the distortion of the hands and front of the face that projects outward.

    The lighting seems a little flat, try to move the flash off camera axis.

    I like the bokeh.
