Ongoing Problems....

Having intermittent problems with my galleries - this has been happening for at least a week now....

About 50% of the time they seem to be down and the page does not load at all... http://images.luke-k.com/Portfolio


Please help Smugmug.

Hi Andy,

I am almost certain this is not the problem... firstly, I have followed these instructions and had the CNAME set up for a long time, working just fine. Secondly, it is intermittent - meaning it works for me some days and not others. Thirdly, the page smugmug.luke-k.com isn't loading either.

IIRC the setup changed a while back so you may actually have set it up correctly a long time ago and it not work quite correctly now. It is probably worth going through in detail the link that Andy gave you as from here you don't look quite setup properly any more. e.g. the instructions say

"1. for the www host point a CNAME record to domains.smugmug.com"

But your CNAME for www.luke-k.com points to luke-k.com. You are very close to having it working correctly, you might just need to go through all the detail in that post again.

It does, it's just luke-k.smumug.com rather than smugmug.luke-k.com

I can't see that I have done anything wrong. It is all set up as instructed.
- I do not want www.luke-k.com to point to luke-k.smugmug.com.
- I want images.luke-k.com to point to luke-k.smugmug.com

I don't know what else to do....

Why is it that it was working for several months and it simply stopped working?

Oops, my mistake. Then it does look correctly set up. The only other thing I would check is your domain name in the control panel for your Smugmug - Tools/Control Panel then Settings then Domain. It should of course read images.luke-k.com there.

Just email the support folks. They are normally very happy to fix this

Not a clue . It seems like lots of stuff just breaks these days - not referring to Smugmug here. Wish I understood

Thanks Richpepp - all is set up correctly in smugmug also....

Ok - I've sent an email through to the Smugmug Heroes.... we'll see what happens now...

Very strange - it's suddenly working again... I didn't do a thing.

Yep, working for me. In fact it was always working for me, I never saw anything funny but I'm always willing to take a look as sometimes it shows up problems that I may be having. What I tend to do in these situations is switch between a whole bunch of browsers just in case but I'm guessing that you had already done that. I wonder if a Smuggie did some tweaking somewhere
