I was killing some time in O'hare this week (as usual) and wanted to try this out, what do you think?

This doesn't quite come together for me. The strong colors dominate and there's nothing in the composition that brings the eye to the silhouette of the fellow who is walking out of the scene. ne_nau.gif

Thanks Richard, I'm not terribly excited about it either. I might try a different edit, but otherwise will try that shot again from scratch.

I agree with Richard, though, as I look at your picture, I can see why you took it. It might have been a lot better if you had gotten your traveler as he passed the window in the middle of the picture.

If the photo were mine, I'd try a square crop incuding just the left hand side. This would give you a theme - man, time passing, traveler... And, I would try it in b&w. The day glow colors really draw the eye leaving the traveler as just an afterthought.

I like the b&w much better.

have you considered cropping to only the first two panels? (and leveling of course)

I tried Angelo's idea, and dig it. It is a hard one to level for some reason as the lines are all catawampus.

That's better than the shot you originally posted. I don't think it's worth spending more time trying to get everything orthogonal. It's not necessary or even desirable sometimes.

I'd agree with Richard.... I like the current version above with the two panels considerably more than the original. For me, the contrast and silhouette appear better suited in this version.

Thanks for the comments, I agree that this crop is tons better. I appreciate the feedback!
