I'd like 1 & 2 if it weren't for the dresses. The movement of the dress makes them look pregnant. I think I'd get rid of the right hand in 1. Cute subject and nicely done in 3. 4 doesn't do anything for me.

Okay so what is wrong with the right hand?? It doesn't look great but it is her hand and in the picture it is fine. Everything is framed, cropped and looks great. Those pictures are hard to take, I would kill for a floor like that at times to take dance pictures.. You cannot control the costumes and never will be able to control them you did everything correctly, as a father / sports photographer I know how picture 4 works out the kids love or loath their costume. She looks pregnant I will not even go there, these are great pictures...

Dance photos are about lines. The hand is distracting and very easily removed. Removal will not leave the viewer saying "where's her hand?"
As photographers we have to be in tune with the clients needs. Women who are not pregnant simply do not want to look as if they are. Maybe that's a poor choice of words. My wife's reaction to them was, "I would NEVER buy a photo that made me look like that". However you wish to describe it, the client isn't going to buy.
I disagree with the dress being a problem. It does not appear to me that either are pregnant and apparently your wife feels different than my clients. They bought plenty and never mentioned the dress.

it's not the size of the lens that matters... It's how you focus it.

D3s, D500, D5300, and way more glass than the wife knows about.

I do agree the hand is a little bright but like it was mention it is an easy fix.
