Fox Cub

Came upon this little fellow, along with his brothers & sisters, while walking through a nearby wood. He sat there or a couple of minutes before following the others back into the den. Unfortunately because of the light I was operating at the limit of my camera's abilities and this is just about the only usable shot.

C&C always appreciated.

Thanks for looking

    Good shot!
I'm not trying to be the vocabulary police here, but am looking for info: aren't young foxes referred to as "kits?" I mean, this IS the Wildlife Forum. Gotta be an expert here someplace mwink.gif.

That starts to peak that cuteness meter. Nice capture.

Just last week I had a young fox at the edge of the woods behind my house. Ran into the house to get my camera but missed it.:bash

Nice capture. I haven't been able to get a usable picture of ones of these guys yet. Here the hunters shoot them, so by the time you see them, they are already running back to their dens. They don't stick around long enough to pose for a picture.

I looked it up and they can apparently be called kits, pups or cubs.

    Thanks tkerr.
I tried to get back last weekend but the weather wasn't up to it.
Now I've geotagged the location I'm hopping to get some more & hopefully better shots (though that may mean a better camera - hmm now there's an excuse mwink.gif)

    Thanks.
Most of this one's siblings disappeared sharpish, but this one was a bit more curious. No hunters here & this is in a woodland preserve. I would have walked right by if I hadn't caught a slight movement out of the corner of my eye. Hopefully if I can get back there they will be more playful and less prone to hide - just have to hope the wind is in the right direction.
