On October 11, 1915, the Paramount Theatre, then called the Majestic Theatre, opened its doors to the public in what would become a legacy of theatrical service to Austin and its surrounding communities.

The theatre hosted glitzy Hollywood movie premieres - including the extravagant world premiere of the film version of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, with Burt Reynolds, Dolly Parton and Jim Nabors along with country music stars Mel Tillis and Jerry Reed.

I was fortunate enough to be present for the premier of Best Little Whorehouse....

So, some 96 years later, with camera in hand, I was able to grab this one last night. I just thought is was kind of cool to share...

C&C Welcome...

    Thanks for the comments.

Yes - it's just a weird shot as a stand-alone, but the lighting contrast is what caught my eye with the blue on the stone wall with the windows. Well, that and shooting some higher ISO for the first time to see what it was like.
