straight face-on shots don't normally "do it" for me, but I like this one. (I'd like to not have his cap clipped on the top and side, but that's pretty minor.)

Nice exposure. And whatever's blurry in the background is at about the same angle as his cap - cool!

    Hey, Lynn,

How about pulling back the highlights on the cap and shirt?

I'm serious. I like the shot, but the cap and the shirt are so bright that I think it distracts from the man's expressive face.

    Lynn,

Yes the final crop and treatment are splendid. Portraits with a cap, especially when the cap is tipped down, are really difficult, and you have done this one perfectly.

I thought this was Henry Fonda when I first glanced at it. A "Grapes of Wrath" feel it has.

    Thanks,

Hey now, I'm not going to get in the midst of a spousal disagreement xzicon_smile_cool.gif but yes, I do like it a touch better. With a good image it's sometimes down to the smallest of details that make the difference.

i like it!... with and w/o the crop.

I usually like tighter crops on faces but the cap makes the empty space work for me. ne_nau.gif

I liked the original crop better. But what a wonderfully telling shot.

These are two nice portraits. And if I'm not mistaken, the cap is a part of who
    this man is.
