Orbis and Ray Flash seem to be the most popular ring flash adapters. For quite a while, I was wondering which one is better. Finally, I got to use both of them enough to make a few conclusions. I just put an article up describing most of the differences between the two. Hope it will be helpful to people who's been troubled by the same question:

Orbis vs Ray Flash: best ring flash adapter?

I have the RayFlash. It works well. It's a quality product. It's versatile too, eg as well as its use as a main light, it can be used to diffuse the flash used as a fill, both on camera and off.

I have seen some sample shots from the Orbis, and to me it doesn't seem to have the classic ring light/beautydish look that the RayFlash has. The amount of light lost with the Orbis is really a deal breaker, and indicates that the design of the product is poor.

The RayFlash is designed to slip over the lens and be supported by the flash when used attached to a flash on camera, and it is custom designed for the flash head. The Orbis attached to the flash has to be manually held in place when shooting with the lens through it, leaving you with just one hand for the camera. Again, indicative of the poorer design of the Orbis.
