    I like the shot, but it does not say poverty to me, I have had neighborhood kids that look like her with the dirt shirt from playing hard.

    It really isn't about the poverty itself, I see it more of how people deal with poverty and kids do to get by. This girls expression has so many different feelings, Happiness, playful, shy etc...

    I agree with tbasten.The title explains that poverty is here, and the light in the childs eyes and her expression lifts her out of that for me. She does look like many hard playing kids in any area like was said, but the context has been explained.

    Very nice take.
    To my untrained eye, the door behind the girl sends a strong statement of poverty, even if there were no title for this composition.
