There was a flying display out at work today so I parked the family at the end of the strip as an excuse to take some pics.

Saw a flying car while we were waiting...

Zipping around making a lot of noise...

A wave to the crowd when he was on finals (just after I took the shot :( )

I went to my first airshow down here at Avalon this year, and I was just amazed at the arial display......... can't wait till it comes back again in 2 more years :D
What lens were you using for these Luckydog?
I tried to shoot with a 70-200mm but it just wasn't close enough, I now have a 400mm so that will be what I use next time around.

Don't you just wonder why on earth those planes just don't fall out of the sky they are soooooooooo big and heavy.

Great series on your part......thanks for sharing........ Skippy (Australia)

    Thanks Skippy/Sandy :):

Skippy - These were on my 10x optical Olympus C730. However my $3000 camera shopping experience is only 2-3 weeks away.
I have had the pleasure of going for a fly in a Hornet and must say it was a hoot! I was at Avalon this year too (with work) and the 400mm will make a huge difference.
