How do you get this tool to draw an even distance around a photo ?

You know when you start it for a frame or such. I need a way to centre it as i end up with borders that are say 10mm from the top of my photo but 8mm from the sides. I cant start it at exactly 45 degrees from my photo.

Ta Gus

I don't frame, but isn't is easier to just increase the canvas size?

    Gus,

Try this. It might be close to what you want. It does it in pixels, not mm's and gives you a selection that is exactly the same distance from each edge (not 8mm & 10mm)

    1. Select your marquee tool.
    2. Ctrl-A to select the entire photo
    3. From the pull down menus: Select->Modify->Border and type in a number between 1 and 200 pixels.

The selection will now contract by exactly that amount from each edge, perfectly centred.

    Regards,
    Brad
