Hey smugmug wizards-of-wonder. . . :thumb
I'll post this as a new thread as the "sticky" seems to be temporarily occupied with discussions re: shopping carts.
I WISH that when I was logged in as owner of my pro level smugmug site, that the galleries that I had customized as "PROTECTED" would let me still right-click and save the file properties.
In other words, when logged in as the site owner, I would have automatic rights to right-click and view photo properties.
If you post links to your pics often, you have to turn protection on and off often. And sometimes I have been known to forget to turn it back on.
One other method that might work is to have a selection under the "photo tools pull-down list, called photo properties. And this selection would bring up the same properties box ??

I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

We already get emails from pros who try to buy their own prints while logged in and complain that their pricing is not working, this would create the same confusion
Maybe we can prompt and remind them when they right click but still allow them to save, but we currently tell them in the alert prompt that they will only see the right click warning once even though if they try to save they will only get a blank graphic. And we STILL get confused pros who think that when they right click and are allowed to save that they are actually getting the photo (we just had a thread about it this week in here).
So, to sum up: maybe - but probably not.
If the problem here is making an easy way for the site owner to get the photo URL, isn't the "Share Photo: link, forums" exactly for this? Would a better solution be to either just use this link or to make sure this link shows also shows up for site owners (if there are some configurations that it doesn't show up in)? Another possiblity is that it could even be added to the "photo tools" menu so it's always possible to get to the screen that lists all the various URLs.

How about this idea that I posted in the first message . . .

Or a selection on the photo tools pulldown that simply says "photo url".
Something like one of those ideas?
Thanks for the great service JT - I'm a huge smugmug fan wih virtually no complaints! I'm sure you hear more criticism than praise (I was a WordPerfect software support rep in the late 1980's). You'll only hear only praise from me!
