[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]I have been able to capture my best ever baby eagle shots this past week , watching the first of two fly for the very first time. What an awesome thing to be able to set for the time period necessary to view all this happening. They strut around in the nest flexing their wings and hopping up on the nest edge to capture the breeze and learning to balance and Momma suddenly nudges him to go and still there's hesitation and finally she flies away and leaves him their on the nest and soon he jumps and flies to a branch and exercises his wings more and catches the breeze and away he goes leaving his sibling in the nest ,who hatched a few days later than him, See the whole story on my web page if you choose www.branhamphoto.com

Great series (and I love the captioning). How lucky for you to be there for the 'big day'.clap.gif

In North Dakota it wasn't very common to see Eagles either when I was growing up. Seems a generation lost out on watching these beauties, but the ones coming up will certainly get to enjoy them here. There is a nesting pair just 7-8 miles from my home with another nest just 10 miles from there.

You caught some beautiful photos of the babies. Hopefully next year you'll get to watch another season of new eaglets :D

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
